New industrial park addition named after late BCIF board member

DANVILLE, Ky. - The Boyle County Industrial Foundation Board of Directors is pleased to announce that it has unanimously voted to name the John Hill Bailey Industrial Park addition on Corporate Drive as the John H. Stigall Business Center. 

Stigall served as a director on the BCIF board from 1979 until his death on Feb. 6, 2009. He served as the board's chairman for 19 years beginning in 1990. 

"This is a fitting gesture to honor my friend and mentor John Stigall by attributing to his name a small part of the extraordinary impact that he had on the community and economy of Danville and Boyle County," said BCIF President Jody Lassiter. "There is not a day that passes that I do not see his lasting legacy of economic opportunity for thousands of working men and women in the Danville area who have good-paying jobs because of his tireless and selfless efforts.  I miss him still, and am thankful to have had 14 months with him to download just a portion of his wisdom, knowledge, vision, and love for this community."

During his service and leadership as BCIF chair, Stigall was instrumental in the development of the industrial park addition and the recruitment of the companies now located there.  He was also instrumental in BCIF's effort to donate land in the park addition to locate a Danville campus for what is now Bluegrass Community & Technical College.

In 1971, Stigall joined Central Kentucky Federal Savings Bank, holding several executive positions including Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer from 1979 until 1994. From 1994 until his retirement in 2005, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer. From 2005 until his death, he has served as Chairman of the Board of the bank and CKF Bancorp, Inc.
