Celebrating its 60th season, the Paul Taylor Dance Company, directed by the greatest living pioneer of American modern dance, visits the Norton Center for the first time ever this season. Extolled as “a marvel” and “the center of American modern dance” (New York Times), the iconic Paul Taylor produces dances consistently regarded as masterpieces. His prodigious output includes more than 140 works over the course of six decades, with choreography that runs the gamut—lyrical, dark, ironic, silly, nostalgic and outright funny—but each piece is always a journey orchestrated by genius. Paul Taylor’s primary Company’s performance on the Newlin Hall stage will feature the Kentucky premiere of American Dreamer, a brand new work created in 2013 set to the music of Kentucky’s own, Stephen Foster, as well as classic and entertaining Taylor signature works.
