Join Professor Nathan Link and the Centre College Kentucky Ensemble for an afternoon of traditional Kentucky music at the Community Arts Center.
Centre College’s Kentucky Ensemble performs music ranging from Appalachian ballads and old-time music to traditional bluegrass and contemporary alternative country music. The group, led by director Nathan Link, will perform a number of pieces, discussing their provenance and history, as well as the musical traditions of the state and the region.
The Kentucky Ensemble was established in 2007 by Professor Nathan Link and has performed throughout the state and the region. In 2013, the group toured New Zealand and was one of nine recipients of statewide of the Governors Awards in the Arts.
