    Event Description:
    The Heart of Danville Main Street Program is celebrating Danville's African-American Business District during a ceremony, 4 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 28, at Grayson’s Tavern, located at Constitution Square Historic Site.
     
    The HOD is releasing “You Don’t Ever Want to Forget Second Street: A Retrospective Guide to the African-American Business District,” which is a collaborative research project between the HOD and Centre College. The guide focuses on the significance of Danville’s African-American Business District, highlighting important businesses and social spaces. The guide gives an explanation of how the district declined and was later demolished as part of the city’s Urban Renewal Program.
     
    Tuesday’s ceremony is open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
