Joanna Kirby has 30 plus years of experience working, studying and promoting horticulture as a necessary part of everyday life. Joanna is the former President of The Garden Club of Kentucky, Inc., 2013-2015 and now serves on the board of The National Garden Clubs, Inc. as well as serving on the NGC President's Special Project for Monarch Watch and Monarch Waystations. For her Presidential project Joanna initiated a partnership between The Garden Club of Kentucky and the Kentucky State Parks System to establish Monarch Waystations at many of the 49 state parks. Due to this statewide effort, the number of certified Monarch Waystations in the state of Kentucky has increased from 36, in the Spring of 2013, to over 334 today. At this event Joanna will discuss the importance of monarch way stations and will show you how to build your own.
