Strategic infrastructure investments are paving the way for new economic development opportunities in Danville and Boyle County, Kentucky. Develop Danville, working alongside its economic development and land-holding partners, is advancing three industrial access road projects designed to open additional acreage for business investment. The projects also hold potential for industrial expansion and commercial development.

With two roadway projects currently under construction and a third progressing through the bidding process, these investments demonstrate the community’s proactive approach to preparing properties for future growth.

How is Stigall Business Center expanding industrial opportunities?

A new roadway branching eastward from Corporate Drive within the John H. Stigall Business Center will provide access to 50 acres of level, utility-served industrial property previously inaccessible by road.

The project, representing an investment exceeding $1 million, is nearing substantial completion. Todd Johnson Contracting is completing construction, with paving provided by the Allen Company. Funding is supported largely through the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development’s Kentucky Product Development Initiative (KPDI).

The improvements further strengthen an established industrial park already home to a Site Selectors Guild Gold-Level REDI Site and a Kentucky Build-Ready certified building pad exceeding 100,000 square feet. By improving access to additional developable acreage, the project increases the parks’ capacity to accommodate prospective employers.

How will improved rail access in Boyle County, KY support industrial recruitment?

Another roadway project is underway at the Danville-Boyle County Economic Development Authority’s 80-acre Norfolk Southern rail-served property.

The new access road, connecting from North Stewarts Lane, will provide entry to a site suited for large-scale industrial operations requiring substantial building space and rail transportation capabilities.

Geotechnical investigations, preliminary building concepts, and other due diligence have already been prepared. Combined with the  new roadway, these efforts position the property as a major competitive option for manufacturers and other major industrial users evaluating locations in central Kentucky.

What opportunities are emerging at Lakeside at Reding Farm?

Perhaps the most visible of the three projects is the planned access road serving Lakeside at Reding Farm, a 200-plus-acre mixed-use development along the South Danville Bypass.

The Danville-Boyle County Development Corporation has received bids for the roadway, which will establish a new entrance to the property. The development has already attracted two commercial commitments in 2026, including a new Lumber King building materials retail location.

Plans for Lakeside at Reding Farm extend well beyond commercial development. The master-planned community envisions the following elements:

  • Residential neighborhoods
  • Walkable town center
  • Professional offices
  • Industrial properties
  • Recreational amenities surrounding an existing lake

Develop Danville has also applied for additional KPDI funding to extend roadway access to approximately 75 acres of newly master-planned industrial property, creating further opportunities for business recruitment and investment.

How are infrastructure investments strengthening Danville’s future?

Together, these three projects reflect a coordinated strategy to improve site readiness, expand development opportunities, and strengthen Danville-Boyle County’s competitive position.

By investing in infrastructure before prospective employers arrive, the community is addressing important site selection considerations while preparing for continued economic growth.
