The Boyle County Industrial Foundation held a dedication ceremony for the John H. Stigall Business
Center on the morning of Oct. 1 at Bluegrass Community and Technical College. Members of Mr. Stigall's family, friends, and colleagues were present to share kind memories and stories about his work in the community.
Mr. Stigall served as a director of BCIF from 1979 until his death on Feb. 6, 2009.
During his service and leadership as BCIF chair, Stigall was instrumental in the development of the industrial park addition and the recruitment of the companies now located there. He was also instrumental in BCIF's effort to donate land in the park addition to locate a Danville campus for what is now Bluegrass Community & Technical College.
In 1971, Stigall joined Central Kentucky Federal Savings Bank, holding several executive positions including Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer from 1979 until 1994. From 1994 until his retirement in 2005, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer. From 2005 until his death, he served as Chairman of the Board of the bank and CKF Bancorp, Inc.
The Oct. 1 ceremony honored Stigall's contribution to the Industrial Foundation, as well as the community.
